Skim USA Division Definitions & Requirements

Amateur Division
Refers to the classification of divisions based on age brackets and does not require a minimum skill level.  Competitors may only win trophies/awards and prize bags with products but may not be awarded money for their winnings.  An amateur competitor can be a retired professional skimboarder who has not competed at the professional level for a minimum of 1 season.

Age Requirement: Under 5 years old must be able to get on a skimboard independently to be granted permission.

Semi-Pro Division
Must be an amateur skimboarder who is also competing in their respective amateur division in the contest.  The competitor has not competed as a professional in the past.

The prize for Semi-Pro is a purse that may not exceed $600.  If the competitor stays amateur, they money will be held in a Skim USA account which the competitor can use for any skim related expense.  If the competitor declares becoming a professional, the money will be given to the competitor.

Age Requirement:  None

Professional Division
Any Professional declarations (verbal/social media/written) or participation in a Professional division in any US contest (independent of the Skim USA Tour).  If a Professional would like to retire and compete in the amateur divisions, they must sit out from competing professional for one full tour/season.
