ShoreLB Throwdown
Shore Pound's signature skim contest at Sebastian Inlet, Florida. One of the East Coast's most consistent breaks hosts riders from across the country for two days of solid competition and progression. Sebastian Inlet brings the waves, and the Pound brings together the skim community in a way no one else can.

PCB Spring Skim Jam
Overview
Panama City Beach welcomes spring with one of Florida's most laid-back skim contests. The Emerald Coast brings white sand, clear water, and consistent conditions perfect for a day of skimming with the Gulf Coast skim community. Expect good vibes and solid competition.
Whether you're shaking off the winter rust or hitting your stride for the season, the PCB Spring Skim Jam brings together skimmers from across the region for a contest that balances competitive heats with the relaxed atmosphere PCB is known for. See you on the sand!
Places to Stay in PCB
Dunes of Panama: High-rise beachfront condo resort with multiple pools, hot tubs, and direct beach access. Full kitchens and balconies with Gulf views make it a solid home base for a skim trip.
Hidden Dunes: Tucked away condos offering a quieter PCB experience while still close to the action. Good for groups or families wanting more space and a residential feel.
En Soleil: Upscale condominiums right on the beach with modern amenities and a more polished vibe. Higher-end option if you're looking for something beyond standard PCB accommodations.
Sunset Inn: Classic beach motel just steps from the sand with straightforward, affordable rooms.
Jackalope Festival
Virginia Beach's action sports festival brings skimboarding to the Oceanfront alongside BMX, skateboarding, and live music. The skim comp draws riders from across the country to compete on Virginia Beach's shoreline while the festival brings the energy onshore.
Great competition during the day, then stick around for the rest of what Jackalope has going on. The Virginia Beach waves provides the canvas, and riders get to showcase the sport to a crowd that's there for the full action sports experience.
OBX Skim Jam
Nags Head hosts the OBX Skim Jam right off the iconic Jeanette's Pier. The Outer Banks delivers what it's known for: quality waves, shifting sandbars, and conditions that can range from mellow to challenging. This contest brings together the NC skim scene and beyond for a day of competition on one of the East Coast's most scenic stretches of coastline.

44th Annual Zap Pro/Am World Championships of Skimboarding
The longest-running skim contest in the world returns to Dewey Beach, Delaware. Four decades of history, and the Zap World Championships of Skimboarding remain the benchmark for East Coast competition. This is where legends have been made and where the next generation comes to prove themselves against the best riders from around the globe.
Dewey Beach has hosted this championship since the beginning, and the break continues to deliver when it counts. Pro and amateur divisions bring depth to the competition, with riders traveling internationally to compete for a world title. If you're serious about skimboarding, the Zap Worlds are on your calendar.

Skim Bash
New Jersey's staple skim contest brings the tri-state area together for a day of competition on the Jersey Shore. Sea Bright's beach delivers consistent conditions and a solid community vibe.
Melaque Skim Magia
Overview
World-class skimming meets one of Mexico's most underrated breaks. Melaque delivers consistent wraps, warm water year-round, and a shore break that rewards both power and finesse.
Skim Magia isn't just another contest - it's a destination event. Think epic heat matchups by day, beachside hangout by night, and an amazing skim culture.
Places to Stay in Melaque
Hotel Sueño del Sol – Beachfront property with direct access to the sand and straightforward accommodations. Good location for skimmers who want to roll out of bed and check the conditions.
Hotel Monterrey Melaque – Budget-friendly option in the heart of town, walking distance to the beach and local restaurants. Basic rooms that get the job done without unnecessary frills.
Laguna del Tule – Sits between the beach and the lagoon with pool access and a more resort-style setup. A bit more upscale while still maintaining that Melaque laid-back vibe.
Bungalows La Fragata – Beachfront bungalows with kitchen facilities, ideal for longer stays or groups. The kind of place where you can settle in and live like a local for a week or two.
Kasa Sara – Boutique guesthouse with a homey feel and personalized service. Smaller property that offers more of a bed-and-breakfast experience than a standard hotel.
Things to do in Melaque
The Beach: Melaque's main draw is its long, curving bay with calm waters perfect for swimming, skimming, and relaxing. The beach stretches for miles with plenty of space to spread out. Early mornings offer glassy conditions and fewer crowds.
Barra de Navidad: Walk or take a quick taxi to the neighboring town of Barra de Navidad, just a few minutes away. This small fishing village has a more compact feel, with restaurants lining the waterfront and a lagoon on the opposite side. The sandbar connecting to the Grand Bay Hotel offers good views of the bay.
Fresh Seafood: Melaque and Barra are known for excellent, affordable seafood. Beachfront palapas serve fresh catch, ceviche, and cold beer. Don't miss the fish tacos and aguachile.
Lagoon Tours: Take a boat tour through the mangrove-lined lagoon in Barra de Navidad. Local captains offer trips to see birds, crocodiles, and the quieter side of the coastline.
Town Square: Melaque's plaza comes alive in the evenings with locals, food vendors, and a relaxed atmosphere. It's a good spot to grab street food and people-watch.
Sunset Watching: The bay faces west, making for spectacular sunsets. Grab a spot on the beach or at a beachfront restaurant and watch the sun drop into the Pacific.

This is a three-day event that has live music, great food, and an amazing skimboarding competition, all in the heart of the skimboarding capital of the East Coast, Dewey Beach!

With the competition venue right on the South side of Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, and tons of great local restaurants and shops, the OBX Skim Jam always delivers a fun weekend of skimming and family fun! NOTE: This is a 3-day event!

This year’s Virginia event will be a part of the Jackalope Festival, a 3-day, vibrant festival renowned for its unique atmosphere, the quality of the athletes competing in high adrenaline action sports such as skateboarding, bouldering, break dancing and BASE jumping. JACKALOPE is the ultimate gathering of Canada's action sport communities, bringing together top athletes and professionals in the featured sports as well as enthusiasts and curious!

This year is the 40th anniversary of the contest, which is a three-day event that has live music, great food, and an amazing skimboarding competition, all in the heart of the skimboarding capital of the East Coast, Dewey Beach!
